Why Are Grey Shower Panels So Popular?

Bathroom renovations don’t happen often in many homes due to cost and time. Unlike other home updates that follow trends, bathroom renovations are all about personal taste and creating a style you’ll love for years to come.

Grey shower panels remain one of our best sellers, as the colour - available in variations ranging from marble to concrete - is a timeless choice that works in both modern and traditional homes.

What Makes Grey Shower Panels So Popular?

Versatility

Grey works for different aesthetics, from modern to rustic or industrial. The colour grey is a neutral that can easily be styled, a shade that enables complete creative freedom as it won’t clash with other colours.

Longevity

As well as appearance, panels are solid and manufactured to last. A huge factor of their popularity is that they’re incredibly easy to keep clean in comparison to tiles. Unlike tiles, which inevitably gather mould in the grout, shower panels are mould resistant as there is nowhere for moisture to become trapped. A quick wash down with warm soapy water and they’ll be back to looking brand new, saving time and upkeep.

Restyling

If you ever feel like switching up the style of your bathroom in the future, the rest of the room can easily be updated around your timeless panels. You could swap out the fixtures from the original style you chose - whether chrome, brass, or black - and introduce a new colour through decorative items like towels, soap dishes, dispensers, candles, or diffusers.

If you only installed grey panels in the shower cubicle, consider adding panels to an opposing wall. This could be water-resistant slat panels, a tongue and groove style that can be painted in a complementary shade, or even a completely different pattern for contrast.

The beauty of grey panels is that they offer endless opportunities to restyle your bathroom and create a fresh new look without a full renovation.

Updating a 90s Bathroom with Grey Marble Panels

Inspired by a friend's downstairs toilet that had dark grey marble panels fitted, Kimberley decided this was the style she wanted to use in her bathroom renovation. The perk of having no grout to clean playing a huge part in the decision, along with the colour, to switch from tiles to panels.

She took her blue and white tile bathroom, which she had chosen after moving into her home in 1998, and redesigned it into a modern and monochromatic space.
