Different Styles of STRIVO MDF
Here at The Panel Company, we stock a variety of different styles, from the classic detail of tongue-and-groove panelling to the contemporary textures of ribbed, fluted and narrow slats.
The STRIVO range also includes Shaker wall panel kits, as well as matching MDF dado rails and skirting board to create a polished finish.
How to Prepare the Wall and Choose an Adhesive
Check the Wall
Ensure that the wall you’re going to apply the panels to is clean and dry and remove any loose paint or wallpaper. You should also check that the wall is flat using a straightedge or level to ensure that the panels will attach.
Find Wall Studs
Use a stud finder to locate and mark the vertical studs on the wall. Mark them clearly so you can fasten the panels securely if using screws or pins.
Preview the Layout
Place a few panels on the floor to check the pattern, panel placement, and alignment. This will help you envision the result and make any necessary changes before attaching them to the wall.
Choose a Strong and Reliable Adhesive
Apply a solvent-free adhesive in a zig-zag pattern along the length of the panel. Once applied, press the panel into place and apply even pressure across the entire surface. We recommend using solvent-free Pink Grip.
Customise
Leave the panels to dry and cure on the wall for 24-48 hours. Once dry, you can paint your panels any colour to complement the rest of the room or make a statement.
Ultimately, it’s easy to see why MDF panelling continues to be a popular choice in homes across the UK. Not only are the panels DIY-friendly, but they also complement a wide range of interior styles. Whether you live in an apartment, new-build, or older property, tongue-and-groove panelling can transform any room.
